2. Information We Collect

The MediaUploads application interacts with your server to perform its core functions. It may collect and process the following types of data:

Account Information

When you create an account on your MediaUploads instance, we store your username and a securely hashed version of your password. This is used solely for authentication purposes.

File Data

To provide backup and sync services, the app transmits your photos, videos, and documents from your device to your server. This transmission is encrypted if your server is configured with SSL/HTTPS.

Usage Logs

Your server logs may record IP addresses, timestamps, and request types (e.g., uploads, downloads) for security and maintenance purposes. This data is local to your installation.

3. Permissions

The MediaUploads Android/Desktop app requires specific permissions to function correctly:

• Storage/Photos: To detect new media and perform automatic backups and restoration.
• Network: To communicate with your self-hosted server for syncing data.
• Foreground Service: To ensure uploads continue reliably even when the app is in the background.

4. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including:

• Secure password hashing (Argon2/Bcrypt).
• Support for HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit.
• CSRF protection and session management.

However, as a self-hosted solution, the ultimate security of your data depends on the security of your hosting environment and server configuration.
